Obituary For Alison Jennifer Carruthers

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that on the 29/08/23 at 1:42am, the angels took back one of their very best when Alison Carruthers passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth.

Alison is lovingly remembered forevermore by her two children, Michaela, and Michael John, as well as everyone who was ever graced by her warm smile and kind energy.

Many of you may remember Alison from her years working as a nurse at Withybush Hospital, where her passion for helping others was greatly appreciated by staff and patients alike.

As per Alison’s final wishes, there won’t be a funeral or service held in her honour. Instead, we hope that family, friends, and well-wishers all do something they love dearly to celebrate the life of this magical and special person in their own unique ways.

Alison, we miss you dearly, and promise to continue to be guided and inspired in our own lives by the example you set in yours.

Thank you for being unapologetically yourself to the very end. We love you forever and always.

I will never forget being in Mikes room upstairs waiting to meet Ali for the first time when Mike and I first started dating back in 2008. I heard an excited voice downstairs after coming in from work 'I want to meet her, I want to meet her' and she came running up the stairs, a bundle of energy, opened his bedroom door with a huge smile and when we saw each other we said 'oh my gosh, I know you'. I already knew Alison from shopping in Superdrug where I used to work but little did I know she would become my future mother in law. Everytime I visited Mike at their family home, Alison would always greet me with a hug and hug me before I left. She would compliment me at any given opportunity and made me feel like part of the family right from the very beginning. I will always remember my mother in law for being happy go lucky, holistic in nature, caring and muttly laughing and who always tried her best to give neutral, fair advice, unjudged. She championed mine and Michaels relationship and parenting. She will be remembered for her quirkiness and uniqueness and her ability to be unapologetically herself. She was definitely one of a kind. I will always think of you anytime I smell Chanel or eat a Jaffa cake! Sleep tight Alison. Until we meet again ❤️
