Obituary For Betty Saxton

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Saxton on 8th of March at the age of 81. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Betty was a mum, nan, sister, auntie and a strong Yorkshire woman who had the kindest heart. She loved her family dearly and held her family close to her. Betty was born in South Yorkshire in 1945 and moved to Torquay in 1982. She had a love for animals and a special love for her dogs. She watched her grandsons grow up in their home in Maidencome where they all hold endless loving memories.

In honouring Betty’s wishes, the family has opted for a private, unattended service to celebrate her life.

The family will be holding a gathering to celebrate the life of Betty on Saturday 28th March at 1:00pm at the Babbacombe Hotel.

Family and friends are warmly invited to join us as we come together to remember her, share stories, and celebrate the wonderful life she lived.

My beautiful auntie, a constant in my life from the day I was born. There are no words to convey how sad I feel that I won't see you again and only have memories we made, but there are plenty of those. My earliest one is probably when you looked after me when Sharon was born, you took me shopping for a present in Doncaster. My holiday with you all in 1980 was the best, again you took me shopping for holiday clothes as my mum was in hospital. Always there for me like another mum. Countless days in Devon with you, always a warm welcome and nothing too much trouble. In later years we always picked you up when you stayed with uncle Bryan and took you out. We had such a laugh every time! And sometimes a gin! You were a great auntie to my children and a great great auntie to their children. So loved by all of us and will be missed beyond measure. Rest easy Auntie Betty. I hope you knew how loved you were xx

Auntie Betty you will be sorely missed and will leave a big hole in our hearts. I have vivid memories of family holidays throughout my childhood where we came to see you and stay with you. You were one of the kindest people I knew and always made me smile. You never forgot my birthday or my children's and we will be forever grateful we got to spend time with you. Sleep tight. Love Caroline

Nanny, we spent so many happy times together eating your delicious cakes and watching TV together. I will always remember our walks when we would chat and look at the beautiful countryside. Thankyou for being my Nan. Love and hugs Niall xx
