Obituary For Derek George Hale
Derek is a well known and respected member of the community a Swffryd boy born and bred he will be sadly missed by all who knew him he was kind caring and compassionate a very proud man.
He spent many years caring for his wife Sheila until she passed away in 2020 for the past few years his health has been gradually fading but he still kept smiling through the pain.
Sadly on 16th April he passed away we have no words to describe the emptiness left behind.
There are so many things to say about him so many stories and memories to share but one in particular will always make me smile. A few months ago he had a fall he was sat on the pavement blood coming from his head running down his face he put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a betting slip and he said put my horses on son with a smile on his face. We sat in A&E laughing about it.
Everyone who knew him will have a story that makes them smile. He spent his life serving the local community any way he could everyone described him as our ambulance man always there when needed.
He loved sport in his younger years playing Saturday was sport day nothing could stop him watching the rugby football horses. He left us both with so many happy memories to treasure his gratitude and appreciation was unlimited he took nothing for granted he must have thanked us at least ten times a day he showed me what a father should be like.
The love and respect for you will never fade you treated me like a daughter we miss you so much Carlton and I have lost a father and friend.
Enjoy your reunion with Shirley and Jamie you can-be together now for eternity.
See you on the other Dad
Your loving son and daughter in law, Carlton & Sue.
