I knew Ernie through the singing group he came to every Thursday. He made my job as a volunteer so much richer as he welcomed everybody, joined in everything and had such a lovely voice. Him singing ' Oh what a beautiful morning' will be an abiding memory.

Ernie, what a very special man.... everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him would know that, the Maddison family so lucky to have had his love and commitment to them. What a huge gap will be left. I will remember Ernie with great affection and respect and not forget his love of singing, laughter and life. 😘

It is With deep sadness that we have lost the most loving and caring man. There is no doubt in my mind, that I will carry him in my heart until the end. His jokes, His sing songs that he sung on our birthdays/ Christmas, The phone calls that lasted hours and never running out of things to say. There is many more things that grandad did that kept me smiling but the list would be endless. . It is certain that his aura and footprint will continue to live on no matter of where he is. Love you grandad

Ernie could be in no doubt as to how much he was loved by all.... He received back what he generously, whole heartedly exuberated. A beloved uncle to me and great uncle to my daughter and my grandson's great, great uncle - he was great in every sense of the word. I will cherish the many happy memories we made together. I am doing my best to look on the bright side, because I know at some point Ernie would burst into a rendition of that song to try to cheer us all up.

I wish to be first in place to say I was deeply privileged to have a father who did nothing but love, care and help others. And had a gigantic Heart. Someone I am extremely proud to say " this is my dad" He has slippers, sandals, I believe no other human ,male being could never fill. I am also chuffed to say he taught me the true meaning of love..... Always and forever I will love you, where ever you may be.....🥰😍❤️
