I met Frances not long after she arrived here in Edinburgh and we quickly became friends. I so enjoyed our coffees and deep and meaningful chats. I am so very sorry that her plans for a new life in Edinburgh were cut short as (in her own words 'God had other plans' for her. Frances, you were one of the kindest, warmest people I know. Rest easy my friend. I will miss you.

In loving memory of Francis — a woman whose warmth, creativity, and courage left a lasting imprint on my life. I first met her at the Veterinary Clinic, where she'd bring in her beloved furry companions. I suggested she make dog blankets for us to sell, and they were an instant hit. That spark of connection led to her creating two beautiful blankets for my own bed, which I still treasure. Before she immigrated to Scotland, she gifted me a bedside lamp with a blue and green glass cover — a parting gift that still glows beside me, filling the room with the same gentle light she brought into my life. Our friendship blossomed over WhatsApp, with endless shared cat videos and heartfelt chats. Her bravery in starting over in a new country inspired me deeply. Even now, her blanket keeps me warm, and her lamp reminds me daily that some lights never go out. Shine on, Francis. You are deeply missed and forever remembered. - Gaylene

I was truly blessed with an eldest sister who cared and loved me. I always wondered when people said, my sister and best friend. I finally understood what that meant. With the age difference of 13 years our sisterhood included friendship when I reached my late 20s. We could talk, laugh and cry together, but talk and laughing was what we did most. Thank you, Franka, for being not a good sister but a super duper sister. Always and forever. ❤️🌹❤️
