Our brother whose hopes & dreams towered above all. The brother who loved his sister, his brothers, his mother, & father. Our brother who laughed and brought laughter into the home. Our brother whose family loved him and were proud of him. Our brother who was strong & hardworking. Our brother, for whom we wanted nothing but freedom, happiness, and success. Our brother, who sat at the dining table, green chiles by the side of his plate, humming along at the meal. Our brother, who was impeccably dressed, regardless of the occasion. Our brother, who chased after his dreams, determined to make them real. We mourn. We mourn our brother, whose life rippled out over so many others, like wind through a sea of grass. Our brother, whose empty place at the table will echo for years to come. Our brother, who is now in a place free from pain, cleansed of sorrow. Our brother, who will never truly leave us, as he lives in the love, memories, & blood of his mother, brother, and sister, forevermore.
