Uncle John You were a great uncle to me when I was younger and I immediately thought of a funny memory I have, still to this date. You decided to take up sailing and got a Mirror Dinghy, then encouraged me to have a go at learning to sail on Southmere Lake Thamesmead. We "set off" and over a few weekends we got to the stage that I had to learn what to do if I capsized. You explained the plan, we would tip the boat over, once in the water I would grab the centreboard and pull the boat back over, rolling into it once upright. This was a great plan, until I just gave up and swam to the bank, where you and dad suggested I stand up; the water was only up to my waist !!!!! Paul.

I was the little girl in photo 2 and 4. Now I'm ten years old, and throughout my life, my grandad meant the whole universe to me. He was always there, when we went to go shopping for him, he was there every Monday. He was the best grandad I could've ever wished for. Thank you for the best years probably in my life. - Maeve xxx

My Dad. You meant so much to so many people. A family man, always making sure we were ok. A tower of strength who never gave up or gave in. Generous in so many ways. A friend to all. Where am I going to go now to watch a Christmas movie in April?? I miss you so so much but I know you are at peace and being looked after up there. Love always. Lesney xxxx
