It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen Heron on 26th December 2023 at the age of 80.

Kathleen, known as Kay to family and friends, was born in Roscrea in Ireland. She grew up with four siblings; Mary, Ambrose, Una and Leonard. Kay moved to London in her twenties to work as a nurse at St George’s Hospital. She lived in Wimbledon, where in 1966, she met and fell in love with Alexander Heron, known as Sandy to friends. Kay and Sandy married in 1969. They brought up three sons; Fergus, Neil and Ambrose. The family lived in Hertfordshire and Surrey. Kay enjoyed the countryside and loved animals and nature.

Kay was dedicated to caring for others throughout her life, working as a registered elderly care nurse after leaving hospital work. She was deeply compassionate and always thought the best of others. Furthermore, Kay was tirelessly energetic, cheerful and outgoing, with boundless generosity and kindness. Kay is survived by her sons Fergus and Neil.

In honouring Kay’s wishes, the family have chosen a private service to celebrate Kay's life. We invite friends and loved ones to cherish Kay’s memory in their own special way.
